Robbery at Mobile apartment complex under investigation

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Police are investigating after a man was hit with a handgun and robbed of his vehicle Thursday night at an apartment complex, News 5 has learned.

The Mobile Police Department responded to the Jefferson Place Apartments (800 Texas St.) at around 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, regarding a robbery, according to an MPD news release.

When officers arrived, they said they learned that an unknown person had approached a man while getting into his vehicle.

The person reportedly hit the victim with a handgun and pulled the victim out of the vehicle before hitting the victim a second time and leaving in the victim’s vehicle.

Police said the victim’s vehicle has since been recovered, but the robber has not been found.
