Rock the Riverfront to help humane shelters coming June 22nd
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – You have the chance to take a run or walk and help out local animal shelters this weekend. Royal Credit Union will hold the Rock the Riverfront, featuring the 30th annual Charity Classic on Saturday at Eau Claire’s Phoenix Park.
Proceeds from the event will benefit three humane organizations; Chippewa, Eau Claire and Dunn Counties. All three will benefit but Melissa Janssen, Program Director of Community Relations at RCU says the participants get to choose the big winner, “So with every race registration you’re going to get one free vote but you can purchase additional votes for $2 at rcu.org/race and whichever group gets the most votes, they’re going to take home $15,000, second place, $10,000 and third place, $5,000 so every one of these groups is going leave a winner but it’s up to you to determine who’s going to get that biggest prize.” Again, Rock the Riverfront is this Saturday at Phoenix Park in Eau Claire; registration is at 10 am, with the 10K run/walk starting at 8 am.
