Principal Chad Folkersma delivered a statement to the graduating seniors, many of whom were students of his in elementary school years ago.

"I hope this school is like a launchpad for you," said Folkersma. "Each of you is ready to take off on your dreams. As you leave the launchpad, remember the values of hard work and perseverance."

Keynote speaker Trenton Salo told the students about his own life experiences and the different directions he took to end up where he is. Salo originally wanted to play for the NBA, but after years of different jobs ended up in an administration position in the NBA instead of as a player.

Salo described this journey as the seasons of life, and encouraged students to work hard to achieve what really matters in the long run.

"My greatest fear in life is not failure, but succeeding in things that don't really matter," said Salo.

Salutatorian Aiden Bickel also spoke to the graduates, describing his classmates as one of the most hardworking and dedicated classes to graduate from Rudyard.
