Saltillo man accused of commercial burglary, credit card fraud

TUPELO – A Saltillo man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a business, stealing credit cards, then using them to buy things at another nearby business.

Tupelo police served a capias warrant on June 10 on Roy Brent Gilliam, 44, of County Road 1810, Saltillo, for one count of the burglary of a commercial building and five counts of credit card fraud. According to the indictment, Gilliam broke into Metro Ford on Barnes Crossing Road in August 2023, stole multiple credit cards, then went on a shopping spree at Home Depot just down the road.

Gilliam was ordered to be held on a $15,000 bond by Lee County Circuit Court at the time the capias was issued.
