Scott McKnight announces candidacy for Louisiana Public Service Commissioner
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A former Republican state representative and businessman from Baton Rouge says he’s running for Louisiana Public Service Commissioner for District 2.
Scott McKnight announced his candidacy in a news release on Friday, June 21. The announcement comes days after Craig Greene said he won’t be running for reelection.
“I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Public Service Commissioner,” said McKnight. “Commissioner Craig Greene did an outstanding job during his time on the commission and we need a conservative to follow in his footsteps and be a voice for rate payers.”
According to a news release, McKnight represented District 68 from 2020-24 in the Louisiana House of Representatives. He also works as the vice president and director of business development at Cadence Insurance.
Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
