Search continues for missing preacher in White County

WHITE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Silver Alert issued by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation remains in effect for a man missing from White County since early May.

According to authorities, 64-year-old Roy Whited was last seen on Friday, May 3 near the Lovejoy Road area in Sparta, wearing a beige shirt and cowboy boots. He is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 175 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Whited is a preacher at DeRossett Church of Christ and a former state-winning championship basketball coach at White County High.

An estimated 100 people searched for Whited in mid-May but he was not found, nor were any leads discovered.

Whited has a medical condition that may impair his ability to return safely without help.
