Sebastian Rogers: Agencies conducting ‘thorough’ search for missing Sumner County teen

SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — It has been more than a month since 15-year-old Sebastian Rogers went missing from his home in Hendersonville. Despite weeks of searching, there have been no signs of the teen.

However, the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office announced agencies would conduct another thorough search for Sebastian Rogers on Wednesday, April 3.

Sebastian Rogers: Officials ‘not ruling anything out’ in search for missing teen

Authorities reported the search would take place in the Long Hollow Pike area. However, officials did not reveal why that area was chosen.

During a press conference held on Tuesday, Sumner County Chief Deputy Eric Craddock said there has been no evidence pointing to foul play in Sebastian’s disappearance, but they are “not ruling anything out.”

Officials also revealed that a pair of glasses were found within the past few days. However, the sheriff’s office confirmed Wednesday that the glasses were not Sebastian’s.

According to authorities, Wednesday’s search has been in the works for several days. In a statement, the sheriff’s office said they are no new leads to indicate that Wednesday’s search will be fruitful, but they are committed to “leaving no stone unturned.”

The search for Sebastian has stretched thousands of miles with volunteer groups and close to a dozen law enforcement agencies including the TBI, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Nashville Fire Department, City of Hendersonville’s first responders, Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, and Shackle Island Volunteer Fire all assisting in the search efforts.

Sebastian Wayne Drake Rogers, 15, was reported missing on Monday, Feb. 26 from the Beech area in Hendersonville.

Sebastian Rogers: Description

Sebastian is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 120 pounds with dirty blond hair. He was last seen on Monday, Feb. 26 near Stafford Court wearing a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants, said the TBI.

AMBER Alert Issued

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) originally issued an Endangered Child Alert for Sebastian on the morning of Feb. 26 as multiple agencies took to the area to look for him.

Based on additional investigative information developed during the search, the TBI issued an AMBER Alert for Sebastian on the afternoon of Feb. 27. An AMBER Alert is issued when there is reasonable belief by law enforcement that an abduction has occurred and the child is in imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death, per the DOJ.

Multiple agencies including the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Nashville Fire Department, City of Hendersonville’s first responders, Sumner County Sheriff’s Office and Shackle Island Volunteer Fire have assisted in the search for Sebastian.
