Second shooting within days has Denver neighborhood on edge

DENVER (KDVR) — Police are investigating after three people were shot in Denver’s Whittier neighborhood Tuesday night.

It happened near 29th Avenue and Gilpin Street, north of the Fuller Dog Park.

Denver police initially said one person was taken to the hospital via ambulance, and a second person “self-transported” to the hospital. However, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Denver police said a total of three victims were located. Two self-transported to the hospital, and one was taken in an ambulance.

Denver police believe all three victims are expected to survive.

Tuesday night’s shooting comes days after a deadly shooting at the same location.

A man was shot and killed at 29th Avenue and Gilpin Street last Saturday evening. Denver police are treating the shooting as a homicide.

Police have not said if both shootings are connected, but officers are still investigating both incidents.

So far, there has been no arrest in either case.
