Second teen arrested in Pawleys Island attempted armed robbery, deputies say

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Georgetown County deputies have arrested another teen in connection to an attempted armed robbery that took place at McDonald’s in Pawley’s Island, authorities said.

The alleged armed robbery attempt took place on March 31 and at the time of the incident, the suspect was 15 and is now 16 years old, Georgetown County deputies said.

The teen is charged with attempted robbery and second-degree assault. The suspect is currently being transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia, deputies said.

Another suspect, who is 12 years old, was arrested April 10.

The two males are accused of demanding money from a female employee of the restaurant as she walked to her car after completing her shift. The 17-year-old female was then struck in the head with a “rifle-style” firearm after one of the suspects fired three shots at her. The suspects fled without stealing her purse, deputies said.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call 843-546-5102. Count on News13 for updates.
