NEW YORK (PIX11) — A proposed plan to construct a casino near Citi Field has been met with strong opposition from some residents as well as New York State Sen. Jessica Ramos.

Instead of building a casino, Ramos is proposing a convention center and hotel near LaGuardia Airport.

“When the poll told me that 75% of our neighbors don’t want a casino in our backyard, I listened to them,” Ramos told PIX on Politics host Dan Mannarino.
