Six area graduates receive Christopher Kuhn Memorial scholarships

CAMBRIDGE − Six area students received Christopher R. Kuhn Memorial scholarships this year. They are Matthew Vascura, Brea Wilfong, Rebecca Spohn, Savannah Flanigan, Lundyn Miller and Emily Clark.

Matthew Vascura
Matthew Vascura

Matthew Vascura, of New Concord, is a 2024 graduate of John Glenn High School and will attend Muskingum University, majoring in chemistry and molecular biology. He then plans to attend medical school. Matthew is the son of David and Jackie Vascura. Matthew is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship.

Brea Wilfong
Brea Wilfong

Brea Wilfong, of Zanesville, is a 2024 graduate of John Glenn High School and will attend Otterbein University, majoring in nursing. Brea is the daughter of Brian Wilfong and Michelle Dunlevy. Brea is the recipient of a $500 scholarship.

Rebecca Spohn
Rebecca Spohn

Rebecca Spohn, of New Concord, is a 2024 John Glenn High School graduate and will attend the University of Rio Grande, majoring in diagnostic medical sonography. Rebecca is the daughter of Daniel Spohn and Carol White and is the recipient of a $500 scholarship.

Savannah Flanigan

Savannah Flanigan, of Cambridge, is a 2024 graduate of John Glenn High School and will attend The University of Miami, majoring in biochemistry and nutrition. Savannah is the daughter of Jackson and Courtney Flanigan. Savannah is the recipient of a $500 scholarship.

Lundyn Miller
Lundyn Miller

Lundyn Miller, of New Concord, is a 2024 John Glenn High School graduate and will be a freshman at Ohio University Zanesville, majoring in nursing. Lundyn is the daughter of Donnie and Wendi Miller and is the recipient of a $500 scholarship.

Emily Clark
Emily Clark

Emily Clark, of Cambridge, is a 2024 graduate of Cambridge High School and will attend Baldwin Wallace University, majoring in pre-allied health and then plans to be a physician’s assistant. Emily is the daughter of Mark and Amy Clark. Emily is the recipient of a $500 scholarship.

The scholarship fund was created in memory of Chris Kuhn who passed away at the age of 63 of stage IV pancreatic cancer in 2019. Applicants must be graduates of Cambridge, Buckeye Trail, John Glenn or Meadowbrook high schools and pursuing a degree related to oncology.
