South SR 143 loop ramp to east I-10 to permanently close. Here's the list of road closures

Phoenix drivers should expect notable freeway closures this weekend as improvement projects continue, including temporary closures along eastbound Interstate 10 and a permanent closure of a southbound State Route 143 ramp.

Here's what closures and detours drivers can expect, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Eastbound I-10 closed between SR 51 and U.S. 60

The eastbound I-10 will be closed between SR 51 and U.S. 60 from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday as a part of the Broadway Curve Improvement Project.

All eastbound I-10 on-ramps between 3rd Street and Baseline Road will be closed during this time as well, including the southbound SR 51 on-ramp and the westbound Loop 202 ramp to eastbound I-10.

Near the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the southbound I-17 connection to eastbound I-10 will be closed, and the southbound I-17 on-ramps at 7th Avenue and 7th Street will also be closed.

As an alternate route, ADOT recommended drivers use the eastbound Loop 202 to southbound Loop 101 and westbound U.S. 60 or westbound Loop 202 to reach I-10 beyond the closure.

In the West Valley, drivers can use southbound/eastbound Loop 202 to avoid the closure.

The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Warner Road will be closed briefly from 2 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday for barrier work, ADOT said, and drivers should consider exiting at Ray Road.

Westbound I-10 narrowed to two lanes near Sky Harbor

Westbound I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes between Broadway Road and 40th Street near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for bridge work, ADOT said.

Ramp closures include the westbound I-10 on-ramp at Broadway Road and the westbound U.S. 60 HOV ramp to westbound I-10.

Southbound SR 143 lanes narrowed and permanently closed

Southbound SR 143 will be narrowed to one lane at I-10 from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.

Starting at 8 p.m. Friday, the southbound SR 143 loop ramp to eastbound I-10 will close permanently. Drivers can use eastbound I-10 on-ramps at Broadway or Baseline roads to avoid the closure.

Southbound I-17 on-ramp at Loop 303 closed

Southbound I-17 on-ramp at Loop 303 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights and from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for the pavement improvement project.

Detours involve using northbound 43rd Avenue or the northbound I-17 frontage road to Dove Valley Road to enter southbound I-17.

Schedules are subject to change if inclement weather or other factors arise, ADOT said. Drivers can check real-time highway conditions at az511.gov.
