Statesville man charged with 12 drug-related felonies

STATESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Statesville man has been charged with 12 drug-related felonies after being found with more than 145 grams of illegal drugs, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, June 14, deputies used a search warrant at 127 Bost Street in Statesville after receiving multiple tips from the community regarding suspicious activity at this location.

Officials say they’ve been buying crystal methamphetamine directly from the suspect, 56-year-old Robin Scott Gibson, at the residence and other places around the community.

Narcotics investigators used a warrant at the home. During the investigation, officials found 138.25 grams of crystal meth and nine grams of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $14,765.

Gibson was booked into the Iredell County Detention Center without bond for the charges of:

  • 3 counts of felony trafficking methamphetamine

  • 3 counts of felony trafficking opium or heroin

  • 2 counts of felony sell or deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance

  • 2 counts of felony possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance

  • 2 counts of felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance

“This successful operation highlights the importance of community involvement in keeping our neighborhoods safe. We rely heavily on the eyes and ears of our residents,” Sheriff Darren Campbell said.
