Friday evening, West Memphis Police said they picked up a suspect involved in Idarreous’s death. Police are not releasing the suspect’s name because he is believed to be a juvenile.

Idarreous’s mother, Latoya Matthews, says her older son told her what happened right before the shooting.

“He was like, they was standing outside talking, playing ball. He said that somebody ended up coming through. They were driving a black Cadillac, and he said somebody was hanging out the roof,” she said. “He said they came through one time. That’s when they did the drive-by shooting. They let off 10 shots. That’s when they hit my baby.”

Matthews has a message for her son’s killer.

“You’re not going to get away with this,” Matthews said. “I do want justice for by baby because he did not deserve this, my baby should still be here with me right now.”
