TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa police are investigating after two people were killed and another person was injured in a shooting.

Police found a man dead with gunshot wounds in the 8000 block of New Tampa Boulevard, not far from Regents Park Drive, where a man was found shot to death in the roadway on Monday.

Law enforcement later found a vehicle involved near Bearss Avenue and found two more people with gunshot wounds. One of those people was pronounced dead, police said.

The other person was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.

The Tampa Police Department said the shooting was not random and it is believed everyone involved knew each other.

Several witnesses said their sense of safety has been shattered.

“I just hear tires screeching and then next thing I know, gunshots,” Jonathan Smith said.

Witnesses said they saw a man running from the neighborhood.

“He falls down right in front of the gate, turn around, start running away and I heard loud screeching of tires,” Smith said.

Just miles away, police found a car and two men. One of those men was dead.

“It was the most terrifying thing I ever experienced — I have ever seen,” Smith said.

“This gives me chills,” said Victoria Wolfe, a friend of Kyle Prisco, the man who was found shot dead on Regents Park Drive. “It makes my hands sweaty because, like I said, this is Wesley Chapel.”

Many people are still in disbelief.

“There’s no shootings, bank robberies, carjackings,” she said. “That doesn’t happen here.”

Another investigation is underway after a badly decomposed body was found near New Tampa Nature Park. Officials are working to learn who that person is and how they died.
