Tampa police investigates discovery of heavily decomposed body

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa police are conducting a death investigation after a body was found Friday.

According to the Tampa Police Department, officers responded to the 17000 block of Dona Michelle Drive.

An 8 On Your Side photographer who went to the scene saw officers parking at Metro Self Storage Unit with crime scene tape blocking a wooded area..

The body was said to be in “a state of advanced decomposition.” As such, no identification or description of the deceased individual has been released at this time.
