Teens missing in water at Jacob Riis Park Beach in Queens; search underway: NYPD

ROCKAWAY BEACH, Queens (PIX11) — Rescuers were searching for two teenage boys who went missing in the water at Jacob Riis Park Beach in Queens Friday, according to police.

The FDNY received a call for people in distress at 6:03 p.m. A diving team was sent to search for the missing people, officials said.

A dozen fire trucks and a swarm of NYPD and FDNY members responded to the scene.

Lifeguards are on duty until 6 p.m., and red flags were in place to signify that there was no swimming due to strong currents.
