Tennessee baseball's Jell-O shot lead threatened after Texas A&M fan site claims to buy 1,000
It looks like Tennessee baseball might have some competition for first place in Omaha, Nebraska — in the Rocco's Jell-O Shot Challenge.
Ahead of Game 1 of the No. 1 nationally seeded Vols' College World Series final against No. 3 Texas A&M, the Aggies appeared to purchase 1,000 shots to close in on Tennessee's lead. Fan website and media company TexAgs — in an apparent partnership with Texas-based commercial real estate company Oldham Goodwin — claimed to have bought the amount in the hours leading up to the series-opening contest:
We’ll take it from here, Coach!
TexAgs and @oldhamgoodwin have your pregame plans, and if you’re in Omaha, we’re buying 1,000 Jell-O #ShotsForAggies 👀

It appears the $5,000 purchase has helped Texas A&M close the gap vs. Tennessee, whose lead has dwindled at the time of this writing to fewer than 1,000 shots. Both fanbases of SEC programs are certainly more worried about winning a national championship, but should the series need all three games to determine a winner, the Jell-O Shot Challenge could escalate even further.
The Jell-O Shot Challenge was created in 2019, and is hosted by Rocco's Pizza and Cantina, which is located just steps from Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska. The Vols moved into second all-time in 2024, right behind LSU fans in 2023, the year the Tigers won the CWS.
