When will Top Thrill 2 reopen?

SANDUSKY, Ohio (WJW) — Repairs to Cedar Point’s Top Thrill 2 roller coaster, which closed earlier this month, aren’t expected to take all summer, a spokesperson said.

“We are inching closer to an update,” Cedar Point spokesperson Tony Clark said Tuesday on the amusement park’s official podcast.

“The manufacturer is here. They’ve been here. They’re working on a fix. They’re hoping to have results of that labor here soon,” Clark said. “This isn’t a summer-long thing. It’s a temporary thing.”

The ride opened with the park’s 2024 season, which kicked off Saturday, May 4, then closed a little more than a week later for repairs.

An “extended closure” was planned so the ride’s manufacturer Zamperla could complete a mechanical modification to its vehicles, according to a statement from the park at the time.

The park is expected to announce a reopening date on its social media channels, Clark said.
