TRAFFIC ALERT: I-40 in Clarksville cleared after crash leaves westbound traffic blocked

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ark. – Drivers heading west on Interstate 40 in Johnson County Friday morning faced a major slowdown after a crash near Clarksville.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation reported the crash at mile marker 57.9 just before 7 a.m., closing all lanes of westbound traffic. As of 8:15 a.m. traffic was still solidly backed up at least a mile.

Traffic began moving around 9 a.m. after the crash was cleared.

Officials reported this as a rollover crash and at least one person injured was at the scene. The extent of those injuries or information on if there are more than one person injured has not been released.

Westbound traffic lanes near the accident and diversion location at mile marker 58 are back open.
