Train service severely delayed in, out of Penn Station: officials

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – Train service in and out of Penn Station was severely delayed Tuesday, according to officials.

The service delays started around the height of the Tuesday morning commute.

The 20 to 40-minute delays were caused by a disabled commuter train, according to Amtrak. NJ Transit, which is seeing delays of up to 60 minutes, also cited overheard wire issues as the cause for the delays.

Midtown Direct trains were diverted to Hoboken, according to NJ Transit. Rail tickets were cross-honored by NJ Transit, private buses and PATH at Newark-Penn Station, Hoboken and 33rd Street-New York.
