Treasurer issues hunting and doe licensing reminder

Crawford County Treasurer Christine Kryzsiak reminds hunters that 2024 antlerless deer licensing will not be processed through the mail.

A new process set by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) in 2023 only allows in-person or online purchase of all hunting licenses, including antlerless deer.

Processing of only Wildlife Management Units (WMUs) 1B, 2G and 3A for 2024-25 begins Monday, Kryzsiak said. The remaining WMUs will become available for sale Thursday. Hunters will be able to purchase the first round of antlerless with the purchase of their hunting license and most add-on tags.

If a license is applied for in-person at the County Treasurer’s Office or another agent, the license and tags will be given directly to the hunter at time of purchase. Photo ID is required, she said.

Any problem that arises from an in person purchase can be handled by returning to that original issuing agent.

If a license is applied for online, the license and tags will be mailed within seven to 10 days. There will be additional fees ranging from $1.79 to $4.34 for the processing.

All problems that arise with online purchases will be handled by calling the Huntfishpa help desk, toll-free, (800) 838-4431. All other issues can be resolved by calling the PGC, toll-free, at (833) PGC-HUNT.

Disabled veterans and armed forces licenses will continue to be purchased at the County Treasurer’s Office only, Krzysiak said.

Deer Management Assistance Program permits will not be available until Aug. 12, 2024.

The sale rounds are as follows:

Round 1-Residents only begins June 24, 2024 for WMUs 1B, 2G and 3A only

Round 1 — Residents only for all other WMUs begins June 27, 2024

Round 1— Nonresidents added begins July 8, 2024

Round 2 — Residents and Nonresidents begins July 22, 2024

Round 3 — Residents and Nonresidents begins Aug. 12, 2024

Round 4 — Residents and Nonresidents begins Aug. 26, 2024

One license may be purchased per round that has started until the fourth round when the hunter may purchase licenses until they hit the limit of six personal licenses. For clarification on this, please call the Crawford County Treasurer’s Office at (814) 333-7332.
