Tropics Remain Unsettled in the Southern Gulf

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring two separate areas for tropical development. One is in the Bay of Campeche while the other is offshore of Florida and Georgia this Friday morning. Both disturbances have a medium chance of becoming a tropical depression or stronger in the next 2 to 7 days. Neither of them poses a real threat to Louisiana.

More showers and storms are slowly moving into the Bay of Campeche this weekend in the same area that Tropical Storm Alberto formed earlier this week. Similar to Alberto, any tropical system that forms will mainly impact Mexico and stay well south of Louisiana. The next names on the list are Beryl and Chris.
