A member of the U.S. Secret Service was robbed at gunpoint in Los Angeles, Calif. on the same night that President Joe Biden hosted his star-studded campaign fundraiser in the city.

The Tustin Police Department shared in a press release that officers responded to a call of a robbery that occurred at the Tustin Fields residential community on Saturday, June 15, at approximately 9:36 p.m. local time.

After officers arrived at the scene, they determined that a member of the U.S. Secret Service had had his bag stolen “at gunpoint” and that “during the incident an officer (agent) involved shooting occurred,” per the release.

Officers were eventually able to locate “some” of the U.S. Secret Service member’s “belongings in the area.” The police did not detail what items may have been stolen during the robbery.

Authorities said they were unable to locate any suspects at the time and did not know whether they may have been injured during the incident.

The Tustin Police Department said it is still searching for the suspects and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the people involved. They noted that a 2004-2006 silver Infiniti FX35 or similar car had been seen leaving the scene of the crime and shared a black-and-white photo of the vehicle.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service told PEOPLE that the agent was returning from a work assignment when they were "the victim of an armed robbery."

"The employee discharged their service weapon during the incident but unknown if the assailants were struck," the statement continued. "We are thankful that the employee did not sustain any injuries."
