UIndy Basketball aiming for first GLVC Tourney title

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men’s basketball team looks to make history this weekend by winning the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament for the first time ever.

The Greyhounds are the top seed after winning the league’s regular season championship for the second straight season. UIndy is the first school to win back-to-back regular season crowns since Kentucky Wesleyan won three consecutive from 1997-2000.

The ‘Hounds are led by seniors Jesse Bingham (state champion at Warren Central) and Kendrick Tchoua. They’re aiming to make the NCAA Division II Tournament for the second straight season after earning a number one seed last year.

UIndy tips off the GLVC Tournament against last year’s tournament champions, McKendree on Thursday night at 7 p.m.

To add to the excitement of the March, Tchoua is also part of a social media vote to compete in the college dunk contest Final Four week in Phoenix. Fans can vote for the Greyhound center at @CollegeSlam on the X and Instagram platforms.
