University of Iowa researchers discover new way to fight form of dementia

University of Iowa researchers have found a common treatment for urinary problems can help battle a certain form of dementia.

Researchers say three drugs used to treat enlarged prostates show promise in patients with dementia with Lewy bodies, a neurodegenerative disease that can cause cognitive decline and dementia. The study say there’s hope the drugs could block brain cell death. Currently, there are no treatments for this type of dementia.
