Victim of fatal stabbing identified, no suspect caught

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has released the identity of the man killed in a stabbing near Remington Park on the city’s east side on Monday, June 17.

According to CSPD, 24-year-old Tadeo Francisco Villavicencio-Ramirez died of stab wounds he sustained during a large fight in the 3100 block of Heather Glen Drive, southeast of North Carefree Circle and Peterson Road.

CSPD originally responded to the area of Remington Park just before 9 p.m. on Monday after a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found Villavicencio-Ramirez dead on scene of an apparent stab wound.

While the coroner’s office will determine the official cause and manner of death, Villavicencio-Ramirez’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

CSPD said no suspect has been taken into custody, and detectives continue to investigate the stabbing as well as develop potential suspect information.

This is the 21st homicide in Colorado Springs in 2024. At this time in 2023, there were 14.
