Vitamix reannounces recall on blender due to possible laceration risk

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Vitamix has reannounced a recall on their blenders due to a possible laceration hazard to consumers.

Vitamix said about 569,000 blenders are being recalled — including some from a previous recall in 2018.

The recall impacts the Vitamix Ascent Series and the Venturist Series 8-ounce and 20-ounce blending containers and blade bases, such as the Venturist V1200, Ascent A2300, Ascent A2500, Ascent A3300 and Ascent A3500 blenders.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the blade base can detach from the container, which has led to 27 reports of lacerations, including 11 from the prior 2018 recall.

The blenders were sold at Costco, Target, Macy’s Amazon and Walmart from April 2017 to May 2024.

Impacted customers are urged to stop using the recalled blenders and contact Vitamix for a repair kit consisting of a protective plastic shroud and additional instruction details.

For more information on the recall, contact Vitamix at 855-215-5178 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, email at service@vitamix.com or on their website here.
