VSP Deputy injured in crash on Rt. 24 in Bedford

BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) — The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy was injured after being involved in a vehicle crash on Rt. 24 on Wednesday, May 8.

According to the sheriff, around 3:57 p.m., the deputy was responding to an emergency call for service in the Stewartsville area of Bedford County. While attempting to turn onto Beagle Club Rd from Route 24, the deputy was involved in a crash involving another vehicle.

The sheriff says the deputy and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

This crash remains under investigation by Virginia State Police.
