The wait is almost over, Mansfield: Your H-E-B is about to open. Here’s what to expect
The wait is almost over for H-E-B fans in Mansfield.
The H-E-B grocery store’s grand opening at 1670 E. Broad St. in Mansfield begins at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, marking the second H-E-B in Tarrant County.
But if you plan to go, be prepared for some long lines. H-E-B openings typically draw large crowds, with some shoppers camping out overnight. More than 800 people lined up before dawn ahead of the Fort Worth H-E-B’s grand opening in Alliance in April.
Wednesday’s event will feature H-E-B executives, Mansfield city officials, community leaders and local nonprofits. As the company put it, “There will be lots of fanfare!”
Customers can expect to find H-E-B staples, like in-house made tortillas, guacamole and bolillos, as well as fresh produce, dairy and meat. The 118,000-square-foot H-E-B has a full-service pharmacy with a drive-thru, a True Texas BBQ restaurant, a Texas Backyard department with outdoor essentials, and a Home by H-E-B decor department with furniture, woven textiles and accent pieces. The store also has curbside and home delivery services.
H-E-B says it designed the Mansfield store “to reflect the character unique to the Mansfield community.”
This won’t be the last H-E-B in Tarrant County. In June, the San Antonio-based company announced plans for a third H-E-B, this one in northeast Tarrant County in Glade Parks. The store is expected to open in the second half of 2026 at the northwest corner of Cheek-Sparger Road and Rio Grande Boulevard on the Bedford-Euless border.
Future Metroplex stores under construction include locations in Melissa, Prosper and a second Frisco store. H-E-B expects to break ground on a location in Rockwall at the corner of I-30 and South John King Boulevard on June 27.
H-E-B has over 435 stores in Texas and Mexico, employing more than 160,000 people.
