Watch: Trump takes credit for overturn of Roe at Faith & Freedom Coalition conference

Former President Trump touted the overturn of Roe v. Wade Saturday afternoon at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s “Road to Majority” conference, ahead of the two-year anniversary of the historic Supreme Court decision that ended the federal right to abortion access.

While Republicans in Congress, and on the campaign trail, have pushed for a national abortion ban, Trump has consistently argued that the issue should be left to the states.

“We did something that was amazing,” the presumptive GOP nominee for president said Saturday. “The big problem was it was caught up in the federal government, but the people will decide, and that’s the way it should be. The people are now deciding. Some states are a little bit more conservative, and some states are much more liberal.”

Other notable guests at the conference Saturday were Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, Virginia attorney general Jason Miyares, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, former Georgia state Rep. Barry Loudermilk, former New York Rep. Lee Zeldin and Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley.
