The strike expands on a months-long protest that began in February against the government's healthcare policies.

In a televised cabinet meeting South Korea’s president, Yoon Suk Yeol, called the latest walkout “very disappointing and unfortunate."

The doctor's disagree with Yoon's decision to dramatically expand admissions to medical schools, that the physicians say will not solve the healthcare system's problems.
