WATCH: Tinder Couple Meets After Chatting Online For 3 Years

Hectic schedule kept a Tinder couple — Josh Avsec and Michelle Arendas — who are students of Kent State University, from meeting each other for three years. However, they were set up on their first date Tuesday, live on TV, in front of millions of viewers by ABC’s Good Morning America show.

The couple is now off on a free holiday — sponsored by the dating app — to the Hawaiian island of Maui, the Sun reported. Avsec and Arendas were invited on the show after screenshots of their Tinder conversation went viral on Twitter. They exchanged barely 10 messages since Sept. 30, 2014, and had been delaying their meeting due to busy schedules, the Mirror reported.

After being invited on the show, the couple was separated with a dividing wall between them. Both were interviewed separately before they were finally introduced to each other, according to the Sun.

As the wall between them was taken down, Avsec and Arendas hugged each other for the first time in front of millions of viewers and said it was the “best meeting they could imagine." They were all smiles as they hugged each other.

“It’s so good to finally meet you,” Avsec said to Arendas. "This is a dream come true. I can’t believe I’m seeing her right now,” he said. “This has been unreal,” Arendas replied.

Speaking to Buzzfeed News around two weeks ago, Avsec said, "Tinder was super new at the time for my whole friend group. At the time I had matched with a whole bunch of girls and I took it as a joke. I sent [them] some pretty humorous lines. And then I bumped into Michelle. She seemed a little different, so I sent her something different."

Avsec said he often posted screenshots of his conversations with Arendas on Twitter and that’s when he was approached by Tinder.

The dating app asked him where he would like to go on his first date and even proposed to foot the bill. After much discussion, the couple decided to go to Maui.

“After a long debate over your unbelievably generous offer, our dream first-date would be in Hawaii. Meet you in Maui?” Avsec replied to Tinder’s tweet.

“Aloha! We're sending you to Maui but you can't take two years to pack your bags!” Tinder tweeted back.

A cheerful Andreas told People: “I will definitely say that I’m excited, but I might be more nervous about the whole gravity of the trip. We’ve been talking and we’ve really started to get to know each other, so I’m not that nervous, I’m just really anticipating it.”

When asked about the whole experience, Avsec said: “I pride myself on my ability to talk with people or work with people, but I can tell you—I am very nervous, yes, I am so unbelievably excited, I’m like the energizer bunny!”
