New waterfront seafood restaurant opening in Little River. It has deck overlooking ICW

A new seafood restaurant located on the waterway in Little River will open its doors in May.

The opening of Mako’s Bar N Grill will coincide with Little River’s annual World Famous Blue Crab Festival, which is May 18 and 19, according to John Sessums, general manager.

The restaurant will be located in the former spot of Old Key West Crazy Seafood at 4492 Waterfront Ave. Old Key West closed in that location in May 2023.

The restaurant, owned by Sessums’ father-in-law Steve Martin, will offer seafood and steak, as well as drinks such as cosmos, bourbons, whiskeys and martinis.

Sessums said customers also will be able to sit on the new deck that overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway.

In addition to food and drinks, the restaurant will eventually offer tiki boat rides by next summer, Sessums said. They are currently in the process of repairing the docks to get ready for the venture.

Cruisin’ Tikis Myrtle Beach currently has two tiki boats in Murrells Inlet and will transfer two more at the new restaurant, Sessums said.
