'Welcome to Crumbl!': Clarksville's first cookie store opens Friday

With a warm, "Welcome to Crumbl!" from workers, hundreds of Clarksville-area cookie enthusiasts were lining up Friday for a taste of the city's first location of the popular chain.

It was opening day for Crumbl in Hampton Plaza shopping center, and customers such as Jessica Doffin and Judy McGrew were more than ready.

"We've been waiting for this, for months," Doffin said. The duo owns Puurrrfect Paws Rescue in Clarksville and have lived here since 2017 after originally hailing from Ohio. They've also lived in California.

They say Crumbl Cookies is another sign that Clarksville is truly "coming of age." Until now, many Clarksvillians have made special trips to Nashville just to get these cookies.

Crumbl Clarksville owner Cole Pendleton said the store opened at 8 a.m. and customers were lined up waiting to get inside.

"This is great. It's such an exciting day for us," he said. Pendleton, who has lived in the Bellevue area and also owns a Crumbl store in Smyrna, has said he plans to move to Clarksville.

His partner, Todd Byington, of Utah, the state where the Crumbl chain was founded, said he has been amazed by the warm reception they've gotten in Clarksville.

"It's so much fun to have a product that everyone loves," Byington said, after emerging from a pickup truck that boldly displayed the Crumbl business logo in the Hampton Plaza parking lot.

The 1,700-square-foot store will employ up to 60 people.

Store hours

Crumbl Cookies is officially open at 2864 Wilma Rudolph Blvd., Suite 80, in Clarksville's Hampton Plaza shopping center.

Regular store hours will be Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday-Saturday, 8 a.m. to midnight.

Cookie delivery hours are identical to the store hours.
