La Fiamma pizza changes name, updates kitchen
Fiamma Pizza, previously known as La Fiamma pizza, has not only changed its name but is also switching gears from its wood-fired pizzas.
The restaurant has now installed “a high-performance electric oven,” according to an email from Ken Bothman, owner of Fiamma Pizza.
“Our original wood oven was purchased in 1996, and has served us well,” Bothman wrote. “We diligently researched and tested ovens to ensure that the quality of our pizza would be maintained by this change. The only difference is that we can make more, and can now serve customers during peak times where we’ve previously been forced to ‘turn off’ takeout and our newly added and highly anticipated delivery service.”
Fiamma Pizza is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 200 E Chestnut St. in Bellingham.

The previous building of Billy McHale’s Restaurant has been torn down, and construction crews were working on the site April 3.
