What’s inside Biden’s budget proposal
President Biden unveiled his 2025 fiscal budget, a list of policy proposals that have long been priorities for him and congressional Democrats.
What’s in it: Major provisions include raising taxes on the wealthy, reducing drug prices, increasing border security and helping families with child care costs. [CNN]
What’s next: The budget is unlikely to pass the GOP-controlled House, but it is a starting point for negotiations. Biden’s campaign is likely to use it to draw contrasts against his expected GOP rival Donald Trump. [USA Today]

3 QUESTIONS
...about spring cleaning
We’re a week away from the “start” of spring. I asked our home and garden editor Kristin Granero to give us a guide to a great spring cleanup.
Lily: How does spring cleaning differ from regular cleaning?
Kristin: It’s a deeper cleaning and organizing dive. Start by dusting fixtures, washing pillow covers and throws, deep-cleaning floors and giving your oven a good scrub. Here’s a checklist.
Lily: If I invest in only one new cleaning product this spring, what’s actually worth it?
Kristin: I’d say the Joymoop Mop and Wringer Set is a good bet! It has 13,000 perfect Amazon reviews and will rid floors of grime without using single-use pads that pile up in landfills.
Lily: How can people get their kids involved?
Kristin: Have them clean alongside you if they’re old enough. If they’re younger, this set is top-rated. Spring cleaning is a great way to instill a sense of responsibility — as long as projects and products are kid-safe.
Hack your spring clean: Try the “mini cleaning bursts” technique.
