The Massillon Museum will play host to the book launch of “Massillon Against the World,” by Scott Ryan and Becca Moore.

The event will run 6 to 8 p.m. March 22. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and brief remarks will begin at 6:00. Books will be signed immediately afterward.

Highlights of the program

The 204-page softbound book sells for $20. Pre-ordered books may be picked up during the evening and books will be available for sale and signing throughout the event.

Guests can view the galleries including the Paul Brown Museum and the Paul Brown/Massillon Tiger Football History Timeline. The Championship Trophy and Coach Nate Moore’s orange sports jacket will be displayed. Light refreshments will be served. Nate Moore, additional coaches and several players will be on hand.

Author Scott Ryan, a graduate of the University of Akron, is co-president of Fayetteville Mafia Press and Tucker DS Press and managing editor of “The Blue Rose” magazine. He has written several books. Ryan is an avid Massillon Tiger fan known as the “Section 14 Guy.” He cohosts the YouTube show Tiger Talk, a weekly show during football season.

Author Becca Moore earned undergraduate degrees at Toccoa Falls College and Kennesaw State College and a master’s degree at the University of Dayton. She is Massillon’s assistant varsity track coach, seated track coach, and junior high state championship head track coach. She is a four-time Boston Marathon finisher and has twice competed in Ironman marathons. She contributed to the “Massillon Tigers: 15 for 15” book, and she is the main host of “Tiger Talk.”

Why you should attend

“Massillon Against the World” honors Tiger tradition and the 2023 state championship, the first in 53 years, the first in the playoff era. It includes details from interviews with coaches and administrators; the story of the 2023 state championship; and a foreword by Mike Brown, president of the Cincinnati Bengals and son of Coach Paul Brown.
