Wichita Falls police investigate Thursday night shooting death

Wichita Falls has recorded another homicide.

Police were called to the intersection of Duncan and Smith streets at 10:11 p.m. Thursday.

According to a press release from Wichita Falls police, officers had also been notified about an unresponsive person at 1505 Smith Street. They found a 50-year-old man on the ground at that location. A person at the scene was administering chest compressions.

First responders discoverd the man had a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

The Wichita Falls Police Department executed a search warrant at 1505 Smith and conducted interviews.

"This is an ongoing investigation," WFPD said in a press release.

The name of the victim was not included in the press release.
