Woman accused of throwing son to crocodiles

INDIA (WJW) – Police have arrested a couple after discovering the partially-eaten body of their 6-year-old son.

Savitri Kumar and her husband Ravi Kumar were arrested on murder charges in connection with the incident.

It happened Saturday night in the Indian state of Karnataka, local police say, according to The Hindustan TimesOutlook India, and The Times of India.

According to local reports, the couple had a fight in which Ravi blamed Savitri for giving birth to a child with disabilities. Their child had a hearing and speech impediment, reports say.

That’s when Savitri allegedly threw the child into a canal which connects to a river known for having crocodiles.

The boy’s body was recovered from the jaws of a crocodile the following day, according to The Hindustan Times.
