WSU Master Plan approved by KBOR, what do former students think of it?

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita State University has already made big changes to its campus in the past 10 years, and now it’s looking to make even more.

The school got its Master Plan approved by the Kansas Board of Regents on Thursday after the board saw it for the first time. The plan includes tearing down some buildings, making renovations to some, and building new ones.

What do some former students think of the school’s efforts in the plan they’ve laid out?

“I think, as of right now, they are in need of revamping a lot of the actual classrooms and buildings. I know they just redid the business building,” former WSU student Leon Chau said.

The university says they won’t tear down any buildings without finding a replacement or temporary home for programs first.

“I know the buildings are pretty old so I think it’s going to do great things for the students and open more opportunities for them,” former WSU student Haze Jones said.

The university says changes will happen over several years.
