In an interview with HuffPost Live, the host of the Cooking Channel’s Tia Mowry at Home said that commenters on her social media accounts are constantly referencing her weight. “I just looked at my Instagram … and someone was insinuating that I was pregnant again,” she said. “Guys, I am not pregnant. I am just happy. I’ve gained these extra 10 [or] 15 pounds because of my cooking show.”

The mom of one says that the never-ending comments amount to body shaming. “I’m just enjoying life, and when I want to drop the pounds, I will. But right now I’m happy with who I am,” she said. “We live in a society that is so obsessed with being perfect. Why can’t we just be us? Someone even wrote on my Instagram today, ‘Looks like you’ve picked up a little weight. I hope you lose it. I want you to lose it.’ It’s like, really? Why would you say that? Why do you feel the need to say that?”

Mowry, whose son, Cree, is 4 years old, has been addressing the pregnancy comments for months. In July, she posted a photo to her Instagram account that showed a pregnancy test with the words “just fat” and included the caption: “FYI. For all the people that think I’m pregnant. I’m NOT. Just enjoying life and eating and cooking some great food! Thanks. Again I repeat I AM NOT PREGNANT!” That post has 39,900 likes.

But jokes aside, Mowry says that instead of commenting on her weight, social media users would do well to accept different body types as beautiful. “We need to be more supportive with body images, especially women, showing that all sizes are beautiful,“ she said. "I’m talking about in magazines, advertisements, in regards to what’s sexy and not sexy. We all need to be a little more supportive of each other.”
