Both iterations of Anthony Edwards’ signature sneaker are set to release in July with similar marbled treatments.

The Adidas AE 1 “MX Charcoal” and AE 1 Low “MX Grey” will release on the same day, the latter likely set to be the first low-top version of Edwards’ signature shoe debut to hit the market. Both colorways feature the same black Primeknit base, but the differences lie in the colors used for the TPU wings and sole unit.

The “MX Charcoal” on the regular mid-cut AE 1 is the more stealthy of the two sneakers with a blackish grey pattern dominating the shoe’s profile. A black carbon fiber heel panel is then topped with a grey Adidas logo to match Edwards’ signature on the tongue. For the low-top AE 1 “MX Grey,” silver and beige forms the primary design elements, with branding repeating in the same shade of beige.

Following the initial release of the AE 1 in December and several new colorways that tended to sell out quickly, Edwards debuted the lower-cut version of his sneaker during the Minnesota Timberwolves playoff-opening win against the Phoenix Suns. That pink, black and orange “Mural” colorway is set to release in August, and the AE Low “MX Grey” preceding it in stores was revealed on-foot by Edwards during a playoff career-high 43-point performance in the T-Wolves game 1 win against the Denver Nuggets.

The AE 1 has been a major hit for Adidas, helping to usher in a dynamic new era for Adidas Basketball along with James Harden’s Harden Vol. 8. On Tuesday, Adidas also announced the July launch for Donovan Mitchell’s D.O.N. Issue 6, which carries some of the same design language of the other two shoes and looks to be Mitchell’s most-anticipated model yet.

The Adidas AE 1 “MX Charcoal” and AE 1 Low “MX Grey” will both release July 20 through Adidas’ website and select third-party retailers. Pricing for the former is set at $120 and the latter $110. The low-top will also be available in grade-school sizing for $90.
