TED Talk speaker to discuss AI’s effect on humanity at CSU Pueblo

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — CSU Pueblo will host a special guest on Wednesday, June 26 who will discuss the implications of AI on humanity.

TED Speaker and author Erika Twani is set to share and challenge conventional wisdom on artificial intelligence at CSU Pueblo. Twani argues that AI could be the key to unlocking human potential. Her presentation will explore how the growing technology might elevate human consciousness, creativity, and problem-solving skills by freeing us from mundane tasks.

“By offloading tedious tasks to AI assistance, we reclaim cognitive bandwidth to explore the very depths of our humanity—our consciousness, creativity, emotional richness, problem-solving skills,” said Twani. “Those are the realms machines cannot replicate, which we can double down on in an AI-augmented world.”

AI technology is projected to become a $52.2 billion market by 2028. Twani’s “Enhancing Human Potential with AI” presentation is meant to spark a thought-provoking discussion on how AI’s role is shaping the future.

The talk will also touch on topics about how AI tools like ChatGPT can be utilized to automate tasks, freeing up cognitive energy for humans to focus on developing critical abilities like emotional intelligence, creativity, and the “adaptability quotient” needed to thrive in an AI-driven era.

The session will be held on June 26 in the Life Sciences Auditorium RM 105 on the CSU Pueblo campus at 6 p.m.

The event is free and open to the CSU Pueblo community as well as the general public. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early since seating is limited.
