The Smithscript Dagger is a Throwing Weapon found in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. This new weapon type allows you to throw daggers to deal ranged damage to foes, so you should definitely add the Smithscript Dagger to your collection if you want to keep your enemies at a distance.

Smithscript Dagger has a weight of 1.5 and requires the following stats to wield:
STR - 5
DEX - 11
INT - 11
FAI - 11
The weapon comes equipped with Ash of War: Piercing Throw. This Ash of War allows you to throw the dagger even further than usual with the added bonus of piercing your foes. This makes it extra useful against armored enemies and dragons, as it will push through their defenses better.
The Smithscript Dagger can be upgraded to +25 with standard Smithing Stones.

Smithscript Dagger’s item description reads:
“Dagger engraved with a smithscript. Reduced mass enhances the effects of the smithing arts, allowing this weapon to function as a throwing dagger for all attacks. Once thrown, the dagger instantly reappears in the wielder’s hand.”
Where to find Smithscript Dagger
You can find the Smithscript Dagger in Gravesite Plane within the Ruined Forge Lava Intake, which can be found by warping to the Castle Front Site of Grace and then heading southeast along the lower portion of the cliffs.
Once inside, follow the straightforward path until you eventually come across a ladder you can take to a lever. While this lever will drop a massive column that will allow you to cross further into the dungeon, what we’re here is nearby in the same room as the lever.
After pulling the lever, drop down and defeat the enemy here, then loot the item against the wall to receive the Smithscript Dagger. Before you leave, though, be sure to continue ahead across the column to the end of the dungeon to snag the Anvil Hammer and an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
