If you thought nothing could top James Wright Chanel tasting one of Patti LaBelle’s sweet potato pies, you haven’t seen Steve Harvey take a bite.
Patti and James taped an episode of Harvey’s eponymous talk show last week — to air Dec. 16, the same day the duo’s holiday special, Patti LaBelle’s Holiday Pies, premieres on the Cooking Channel. In our exclusive sneak peek above, James warns Harvey to “get your Patti ready” as he picks up his plate. Harvey makes Patti wait a full 12 seconds for his response. But, man is it worth it.

In the clip below, Harvey explains how he reached out to Patti to squash any rumors that she and James were anything less than instant best friends once his video tribute to her and her pies went viral. That’s when he found out Patti had already invited James to her house for Thanksgiving.
