Saints decline 5th year option on Payton Turner

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Saints have declined the fifth year option on 2021 first round pick Payton Turner. The team had until this week to decide on Turner, who now enters his fourth season with the club on the final year of his rookie contract. This was an expected move by the Saints. Turner has been a disappointment since arriving in New Orleans, mainly due to injuries. He's missed 36 games in three seasons with the club. For his career, Turner has just three sacks.
